My appearance on 3RRR in December turns out to have been podcast for posterity. God help posterity.
All my .....umms, ahhs and stuff ups...
...and coming to terms with the fact that I sound (a) adenoidal, and (b) unbelievably defensive....

I think its part of the character of RRR to "um" and "ah" about things. Out of the 3 speakers I think you did less then the others. The announcer even coughed during it.
I found the same problem when I was riding on bike trails in Hoppers Crossing/Altona. They only went so far to go so where's the incentive to go further productive like CBD workers?
On trains here in Europe there are designated bike carriages (last one usually depending on the country) with space for bikes and it works as everyone is aware of this. Why can't Melbourne have twin deck trains? $ needed I guess.
Wider footpaths for walkers and bike riders with a line down the centre works here. Not perfect but safer then bikes on roads.
Traffic light sequences: Haha this is something Billy couldn't believe in Melbourne compared to here. It's not logical. Give trams priorty.
Motorists vs cyclists is difficult. Doesn't work well here as the cyclists are ignorant and think they rule the road and many accidents still happen. The other interviewed guy was right about in Europe how there is guilt on the driver when a bike comes out of nowhere. It makes the driver more aware but shit happens.
Oh you have the bike share thing on the agenda? The helmut law should be free of choice like here. Can't wrap people up in cotton wool if they have no common sense. Difficult one out of your hands.
The interview wasn't "fascinating" as the announcer said at the end but progress and promotion. I think you came off well.
Good to hear your voice again.
